On Saturday 11 September 1819 after dashing up to London from Winchester on the overnight coach, Keats learns that Richard Abbey won’t see him till Monday. Keats tries to coax Hessey to publish a new volume of poems right away, but Hessey is not keen (the firm is still £100 down on Endymion). Keats arranges to meet Richard Woodhouse on Sunday. He stays the night with James Rice.
